Welcome to my New Baby Blog!

Welcome to my new baby blog! A very dear friend gave me the idea to start a blog so that I can keep everyone I love updated on all the fun pregnancy stuff that has happened so far and is yet to come. As you all know by now Joel and I are expecting our first baby and we are so excited!

As of right now I am 17 weeks along in this journey and up till now it has been an interesting ride. I wish I can say it has all been sunshine and roses but unfortunately, my body has had other plans. Since the second month I have been struck with the nausea monster and it only seems to strike at night, poor Joel. Since I don't eat much at night I haven't gained any weight yet and actually I have lost 2 lbs. Who knew it would take me getting preggers to lose weight.

Our first OB/GYN appointment was a little scary because I didn't really know what to expect. I really like my doctor she is very nice and she really seems to know her stuff. I had an internal sonogram which was a little weird. Joel went with me so we both got to see our baby for the first time and we could see it's little heart beating we couldn't hear it but it was so wonderful to see. Here is first picture of little baby Schmitz:

Yep, this is our little blob isn't he or she beautiful!

I will speed forward to my last appointment which was on May 29th. My blood pressure is normal and I still have not gained any weight. Dr. Webster says that is ok for now but she does want me to gain some weight soon. I got to listen to the babies heart beat and let me tell you that is the most wonderful sound there is in this world. She said it was at about 150 beats per min.

My next appointment is June 25th and this is the exciting one because we get to find out if it is a boy or a girl, Joel is hoping for a boy. She is also going to check the brain, spinal cord, and size of the baby and we may have a new due date, as of right now it is November 18th.

I will keep you all updated on any news.

I am so very happy for the both of you. Please, please, please post some pictures of your growing tummy. Trust me, it may not sound appealing to showcase your growing belly, but you'll be glad you did it. I never did w/either pregnancy, and I regret it now.
